Surely you’ve heard about beef liver by now, and what a powerhouse it is nutritionwise.
Many would argue it’s the worlds best superfood.
And yet, it’s not that popular or consumed very often.
And that’s a true shame, so..
In this post I aim to help you change that.
And keep in mind that you can get it as a supplement as well, if it’s taste or convenience that bothers you.

But even more on that later.
So, why to eat more beef liver?
Beef Liver Benefits
Lots of benefits come with eating beef liver on the regular.
And much if not all of them come from the fact that it’s a true powerhouse of nutrients, bested by none.
And all of these then come with their own large range of health benefits that I won’t go any deeper into right now.
Still though:

1. Beef Liver Is Rich In Vitamin A
And vitamin A, especially the preformed one found in liver, is something most of us don’t get enough of (because we don’t eat the whole animal anymore like we used to).
2. Beef Liver Is Rich In Copper
Copper is another nutrient that liver really excels in, and a very bioavailable type at that.
3. Beef Liver Is Rich In Iron
And iron in its heme form, a highly bioavailable one.
4. Beef Liver Is Rich In B Vitamins.
Few if any foods are richer in B-vitamins than beef liver, giving you yet another reason to indulge in it.
5. Beef Liver Is Rich In Protein
Yep you heard it, liver’s very high in protein, making it good for satiety.
6. Beef Liver Is Affordable
If you go by price, beef liver is more affordable than most other cuts of meat, making it a great investment for your health, and wallet, in the long run.
Beef Liver Supplements Or Food
For affordability, go with beef liver in its food version and prepare it yourself.
But if you just won’t get it down that way, a good beef liver supplement may be a good idea.
Costlier, but easy to take daily and with no bad taste if it’s in capsules.
I recommend this one from Nutricology if just trying it out, or this one from Beverly International for best value, but you can read more about them here.

And here, for when to take them.
Grass-fed Vs Grain-Fed
Although grass-fed is better in most ways, the difference healthwise, as with other meats, isn’t great enough, imo, to warrant going with grass-fed unless you really can afford the steeper cost.
Luckily, most beef liver supplements (if not the food), are grass-fed by default, so you don’t need to worry too much about this.
Wrap-up

To wrap things up, all I want to say is eat more liver..
It’ll bring you a lot of benefits.
Take a supplement if you like, to solve some of the difficulties.
