Top 3 Best Trace And Multi Mineral Supplements And Drops

Both trace minerals and the minerals we need in higher doses are so, so, important for our health, and with our increasingly processed diets, and increasingly mineral-depleted soils, it’s no wonder that people are turning to and looking for the best trace mineral and multimineral supplements to replace these/get them from instead.

And I agree, for your health that’s a really good idea, which is why they’re included among the supplements I recommend everyone should be taking.

(Use the table of contents right here below to jump directly to the best multi mineral and trace mineral supplements, or view them respectively in the store: Body First One-Per-Day Multi for multi minerals and ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops and Now Colloidal (Fulvic) Trace Minerals for trace minerals!).

Best Trace And Multi Mineral Supplements

Sure, you’ll be getting a lot more of them from a really healthy diet and from including a lot of nutrient-dense superfoods and healthy snacks in it as opposed to eating a highly processed one, but still, again in part due to our soils, most likely not enough of them for reaching optimal health and well-being.

“A combination of multi mineral and trace mineral supplements and a whole and healthy diet is the best way to get enough of your essential and trace minerals for your body.”

Why We Need More Minerals, Trace Minerals And Their Benefits

Why We Need More Minerals And Trace Minerals

As touched on above, we need more minerals and trace minerals today because our diets simply aren’t providing as much of them as it used to anymore.

But why do we need them?

Well, simply put, we need them for our bodies to be able to function optimally and properly, with deficiencies in them potentially leading to bad symptoms and disease.

“We need these minerals to function properly.”

But minerals and trace minerals are very broad terms since for minerals, especially the essential ones and many of the other trace minerals as well, each and every one of them is needed for a lot of different things in the body and can come with their own benefits or negative symptoms if deficient in them, whether it be zinc, calcium, magnesium, boron, iodine, lithium or just trace minerals in general (a lot of the benefits of these particular ones are listed in my recommended supplements article however, under each listed supplement, so go read that if interested!).

Either way, it’s a bit beyond the scope of this article, focusing on the best among the supplements available, to try to outline all of them, so I’ll try to keep it brief, but just know again that they’re very important and for a lot of things, including:

  • Normal brain function, nerves and development.
  • Healthy skin, hair, nails and bones.
  • Avoiding disease.
  • Staying properly hydrated.
  • Hormone levels.
  • Mental health, improving mood and reducing anxiety, stress and depression.
  • Proper blood pressure and cardiovascular health.
  • Healthy insulin and blood glucose levels.
  • Relaxation and better sleep.
  • Digestion and metabolism.
  • Energy levels.

(Source and source for many of these).

And so on..

So you’re wise to consume some more of these since deficiencies or sub-optimal levels are common and likely today.

“Getting enough of your minerals comes with a lot of health benefits.”

And with that said, let’s move on to the top 3 among multi mineral and trace mineral supplements:

Top 3 Best Trace And Multi Mineral Supplements And Drops

Ok, so the best supplements for the general minerals recognized as essential and all the other more trace minerals that we need only in microscopic amounts are actually different and thus need to be taken separately, so I’ll be recommending first the best way to get those regular essential minerals through a supplement, and then the top options for trace minerals, and thus we’re starting with:

Best Multi Mineral Supplement (Essential Minerals)

Best Multi Mineral Supplement

The best way to get most of the essential minerals through supplementation is actually through a good multivitamin.

I’ll be recommending one soon, but through a good and regular multi you can generally get enough of the essential minerals zinc, iron, manganese, selenium, copper, chromium and molybdenum, thus making for a good multi mineral supplement.

And let’s not forget, you’re getting a good dose of a lot of the essential vitamins as well which are also very important, and thus two (or many) birds with one stone and a lot of bang for your buck if you get a good yet affordable one.

“The best way to get more of many of the essential minerals is actually through a good and affordable multivitamin.”

Still, however, there are some really important minerals that don’t really fit in a multi or multi mineral supplement and are often lacking in even a healthy diet and which, if you’re determined to get enough of your minerals and strive towards optimal health, may need to take separately.

They’re all listed in my long recommended supplements article, including in what dosages they should be taken, so I won’t be going into detail on the best way to supplement with and the best supplements for each one here (this is about multi mineral supplements [many in one], after all :)).

But they include most of the ones listed above, namely calcium, magnesium, boron, iodine (most multis will include some iodine as well [the RDI] but since that’s likely to be too low for optimal health and well-being purposes, I do recommend taking some more of that as well, separately, click the links for the best supplements of those or check out the mentioned longer article) and lithium, but since sufficient lithium is included in one of the best trace mineral supps below, you won’t need to consider taking that one separately.

“Some of the essential minerals won’t be covered by your multi, trace mineral supplement nor healthy diet, and may thus need to be supplemented separately for optimal health.”

Alright, so for the best multivitamin/mineral supplement, there are different ones that can work, and the cheap generic ones are generally the best imo because of them sticking closely to the daily values of the nutrients/minerals (not too much, not too little) and are really affordable.

I do generally prefer natural and non-synthetic nutrients and ingredients and for good reason, but with the multivitamins I make an exception since I haven’t found a good completely food-based one (yet!), and the so called whole food ones are mostly the same as the synthetic ones just with a little whole food powder added to it (so not natural forms of the vitamins and minerals either way, mind you).

There are a lot of problems with most multivitamins, but go with the one right here below and you’ll circumvent the majority of them.

And with all that said, as for the best multi mineral supplement/multivitamin, I recommend:

Body First One-Per-Day Multi

Very good, and very cheap, the Body First One-Per-Day Multi fits the above described bill and has all the mentioned essential minerals (and vitamins) to expect from a multi.

Body First multivitamin

You can click the link above for it, or get it here.

Recommended dosage: 1 tablet per day.

Estimated cost: $13 for 120 tablets, $3,25 per month or about 11 cents per day.

So, get most of your multitude of essential minerals from that one, and let’s move on to the trace mineral supplements now!

You can also try to dose it intuitively.

Best Trace Mineral Supplements/Drops

Best Trace Minerals

These, the ultratrace minerals, are very different from the above essential ones found in a good multi and the supplements for them are thus very different, albeit much more natural this time (yay!).

There are 2 different ones that I take myself and have for years, and recommend you take as well since they’re by far the best I’ve found and ones that seem to agree with me (and most) and make a difference (one you can feel, at that).

And the first one is:

ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops

These ones are hugely popular and are basically really concentrated mineral-rich sea/lake water minus the sodium, and thus has all of its trace minerals in highly natural and absorbable forms (which is important!).

They’re very rich in magnesium and lithium, and have a little boron as well, and thus you won’t need any separate lithium supplement when taking this one, and may need less or even no extra magnesium depending on how much of this one you’re taking, but it’s still of course all the other ultratrace minerals that you’re mainly taking them for (unless you’re taking them specifically for say, lithium or magnesium, but then you wouldn’t be on this page, would you..)!

ConcenTrace Trace Mineral Drops

You can get your ConcenTrace trace mineral drops here.

Recommended dosage: 20-80 drops per day.

Estimated cost: $29 for 96 servings of 40 drops each, $9 per month or 30 cents daily (they seem to be on sale at the moment however so I might have to change or update this in the future).

Quite a bit more costly than the multi although they are very different and probably shouldn’t be compared, but half that if you take only 20 drops (which I do myself since that seems to be what works best for me) per day.

These trace mineral drops from Body Strong seem to be identical however just with a different branding and slightly cheaper, so I’d say you’re perfectly fine to go with those as well although I haven’t personally tried those yet!

Body First Trace Mineral Drops

And next we have another type of very good and naturally sourced trace minerals, of the fulvic/colloidal nature:

Now Colloidal (Fulvic) Trace Minerals

Aside from concentrated mineral rich water, fulvic acid from very slowly broken down organic matter that’s long been used in traditional medicine, is also a great way to supplement with extra ultratrace minerals.

I take both since I’ve found that they seem to work better together and to complement each other nicely and have found out my body wants some of both through some intuitive testing and experimentation, and I suggest you do too if you really want to be on the safe side with your trace minerals, even if taking just one of them on its own (preferably the first one/mineral drops in that case) plus the multi will take you very far healthwise too.

Either way, here’s what this one looks like,

Now Colloidal Fulvic Trace Minerals

and you can get it from here.

Recommended dosage: 2 daily tablespoons of fulvic/colloidal minerals, as per the instructions.

Estimated cost: $13,7 for 32 oz and servings, about $13 per month or 42 cents per day.

So, the most costly one so far, but with this one as well if your on a budget, you can try taking less, such as half or 1/4 of the recommended dose to make it last much longer, while still giving at least some of its full benefits (again especially combined with the other listed mineral supplements or ideally all the recommended supplements for optimal health, where these are all included as well).

This one has a few additives that aren’t ideal (not that big of a deal either) but since it’s about half the price of most similar/equal supplements, it’s still the absolute best because of that.

“All of the above recommended minerals, are winerals.”

You can also get fulvic acid and trace minerals from a good shilajit supplement, here are the differences between the two.

Realted Reading: The Best Fulvic Acid Supplements (recommending the same one as above).

And..

That’s it for the top 3 (or 4 if you count the Body First drops) multi mineral and trace mineral supplements, but there is another thing I’d like to mention for extra trace minerals, and that should be a part of a trace mineral rich and healthy diet overall, and that is:

Unrefined Himalayan Pink Salt (Honorable Mention)

Aside from supplementing, a whole and nutrient-dense diet really is the best way to get more minerals and trace minerals, and as again a part of that and a nice little trace mineral hack you should really switch out your refined table salt for a mineral-rich unrefined salt instead.

And although you shouldn’t be “supplementing” with this since that would lead to too much unnecessary sodium, it’s still a great way to just increase your trace mineral intake automatically and naturally.

“An unrefined salt, such as the pink Himalayan one, is a neat way to get some more trace minerals in, naturally.”

So..

Do that.

Any unrefined salt is ok really, be it regular sea salt, Celtic salt or Pink Himalayan sea salt, so if you haven’t already,

Aloha Bay Pink Himalayan Salt

get your Himalayan Pink salt from here.

Cost: $4,7 for 15 oz (in other words, dirt cheap!).

And to answer another common question:

When to Take Your Multi And Trace Minerals (Time Of Day)?

I recommend, as with most of your supplements, to take your multi and trace minerals early in the day and with food to not disturb your digestive system any more than necessary and for good absorption (the trace mineral drops however can easily be taken without food and with just water as well), so just take them with your first meal of the day and you’re good.

“Take your multi and trace minerals early in the day and with food.”

And with that we have a wrap!

Wrap-up

To quickly summarize things:

  • Take extra minerals and trace minerals because they’re really important for us and because we generally need more and get too little of them today.
  • They come with a lot of benefits.
  • Get them through the recommended best supplements (Body Strong multivitamin, ConcenTrace trace mineral drops and Now colloidal/fulvic trace minerals).
  • Increase your mineral intake even more through switching to an unrefined salt as part of an otherwise very whole and healthy diet.
  • Feel better!
