Honing and having a healthy or good “health intuition” is something that has helped me greatly in more recent years, allowing me to feel things out and test them intuitively, in order to better know if they’ll be good for me or not and thus make better decisions for myself healthwise.
In my opinion everyone should be doing more of this today, and this article is dedicated to just that.
Improving your health intuition and being able to trust and listen to your body more where it counts, that is.

“Most people could use a better health intuition today.”

The Uses Of A Healthy Health Intuition
You can use your healthy intuition to, as mentioned, quickly be able to tell if something new that you’re trying for your health is a good fit for you or not, including foods, supplements, exercise types and other health interventions.
You can also use it to better know what foods and/or supplements your body needs or wants, and how much of them per day or at a specific point in time (which can often be tied to which nutrients it wants/needs more of).
I’ve used it to decide which supplements my body wants on a regular basis and that I’ll buy again, and I’ve also used it a lot to figure out when and where earthing is conducive to good health, and when it isn’t, and where there are EMF-emitting cords in the wall.
It can be used to help detect and then avoid various food additives and/or sweeteners that you’re sensitive to, making it helpful when detoxing and staying clean, and it can help you rule out forms of exercise and ways to reduce stress that just don’t do it for you, and to figure out exactly what your body needs right now.
A better intuition overall can also help you socially with reading other people and how to behave in various situations, so again, its uses are many.
“You can find/figure out a lot of useful things using your good/healthy intuition.”
That said, let’s move on to:
Improving And Getting A Good Health Intuition
I didn’t always know about the importance of a good health intuition (and didn’t have a very good one either).
I certainly didn’t during the first years of my chronic health issues in my early twenties (wish I had though, in hindsight!).
I did and tried a lot of things just because they looked promising on paper, many of which I know today are not a good fit at all for me, and that I could have known almost instantly, avoiding longer periods of enduring side effects.
Had I known about using my healthy intuition and thus being able to trust my body more back then, I would have been much better off, and much sooner.
“Something looking good on paper doesn’t necessarily equal a good fit for you.”
And here is, how to get and/or improve on your own health intuition so that you won’t have to make the same mistakes I did:
Improve Your General Health
Your health intuition/instincts are strongly tied to the overall health of your body, which can lead to a good upwards spiral of becoming healthier, which improves your health intuition, which, in turn, makes you even healthier due to better decisions, and so on.
Healthier body <-> Healthier intuition.
Luckily, I don’t have to delve too deep into that on this page, since I already have in my long article on improving your health for a healthier life and lifestyle, so go read that for how to improve your healthy intuition.
Clue: A healthy diet is the most important!
All the things on that list will help with improving your natural instincts, including improving your diet and doing intermittent fasting, exercise habits, sleep and stress.
“Improving your health in general will do wonders for your natural healthy intuition and instincts, healthier body <-> healthier intuition.”
But there are some more specific things that have seemed to help a lot as well, which are:
Intuitive Yoga, Dance And Rest
So, aside from just improving your health in general, these few things seem to be very helpful as well:
Yoga Or Intuitive Yoga

Yoga has risen a lot in popularity and come back in vogue in the last few decades, and is actually my favorite thing to hone that natural intuition.
It’s an age-old healing technique for body and mind which could explain why it’s so good for health.
I notice a big difference between when I do it regularly and when I don’t, and once you’ve gotten the hang of it all it takes is a few minutes per day for maintenance, as a part of your regular (hopefully functional) training regime.
I like to do an intuitive form of yoga, fittingly enough, where I basically go for the poses/movements and for the duration that my body wants to do, which serves me well and is something l’ve explained further here.
And here’s a good yoga mat if you don’t already have one!
“Yoga is an ancient healing practice, while being useful for improving your intuition.”
Dancing

Dancing is similar to yoga and can be done just dancing freely to any music that you like (thus you don’t need to “know how to dance” to take part in it and get its intuitive benefits).
Dancing has been with us for thousands of years and in all different cultures, so we’re kind of meant to be doing it, at least sometimes, evolutionarily speaking, and things that we have evolved doing and together with, and thus are adapted to genetically, are oftentimes very healthy and good for us.
“Time to take your stance on dance!”
Resting

Just resting, one of my favorite ways to keep excessive stress at bay, is somewhat similar to a mindfulness practice and is also conducive, in my experience, to improving your intuition, getting you more used to a distraction-free and relaxed state.
As with yoga, a few minutes daily can be all it takes (this can be individual though, and makes for an often well-needed break from a stressful day).
Try it out, will ya!
“Sometimes, rest could be the best!”
And now, some how to:
How To Actively Tune In To Your Health Intuition
Although it will often come naturally, with your instincts telling you what you want to do or eat in any given moment, as they should, and even more accurately so when being healthier, addictions are among the things that can lead you astray here, meaning they can make you crave unhealthy stuff such as sugar, gaming or using your phone and social media (there are many more, of course), so do keep this in mind and try to cut those out wherever possible.
Also, there are times where you need to use your intuition more “actively” or purposefully, such as, in my experience, when sensing what supplements and in what amounts you should be taking them.
Open the capsules and really taste them to help with this, but also remember, that it’s not about a pleasant taste, they can taste like shit and still be good for you healthwise.
Rather, it’s about whether it feels like something your body wants or not.
Same with earthing, same with when recognizing intuitively that your body doesn’t want processed seed and vegetable oils and the foods that they’re in (here’s a list of the specific oils to avoid).
You should still of course also be on the lookout for any potential side effects that may not rear their ugly face until later on, so it’s not all about an intuitive judgement, but again, it’s important.
But there’s also a downside, in my experience, to doing these types of more intentional intuitive “checks”, which is some decision fatigue.
That’s why I like it best, except for when it comes naturally and you don’t have to think about trying to make the right choice, as a way to figure things out to start with as well as once and for all or for a while onwards at least, meaning you won’t have to think about it again or reconsider anytime soon.
For example, I know by now what supplemental nutrients my body wants (and doesn’t want) on a day-to-day basis and in what dosages, or what healthy snacks and superfoods I generally crave and feel best from, and don’t have to give it much thought anymore or try to “decide” or figure that out from day to day.
But it also happens automatically that I can feel if I sometimes want a little more (or less) of say a certain supplement, just like with foods, which is good.
Intuitively optimal dosage.
“You can actively tune in to your healthy intuition to help you in making better decisions, and it’s all about whether it feels like your body wants it or not, just watch out for decision fatigue.”
Fellow readers, I think that’s it on the topic for now, so let’s summarize:
Healthy Intuition And Intuitive Testing Summary
This will be quick, I can feel it, so:
A better health intuition can help you make better health decisions for yourself, and thus to get healthier.
It can be improved by focusing on improving your health overall, as well as through habits like yoga, dancing and resting.
Sometimes you need to tune in to and use it more actively, and then it becomes all about sensing whether your body wants something or not.
“Use your healthy intuition.”
Use it wisely!
That’s all for now,
