Are there vegan B12 foods or not, and are they enough of a B12 source as a vegan?
We aim to cover that right here below, so you can make an informed decision about your B12 intake in no time.
So, let’s get into it:

Can Vegans Get Enough B12 From Foods?
There are some B12 foods for vegans, and they include:
1. Fortified foods
Including plant-based milks, cereals and meat substitutes.
2. Tempeh
Can be a good source of B12.
3. Algae

Only chlorella and nori.
4. Nutritional yeast
Can be a good B12 source as well as for other vitamins and minerals.
5. Shiitake mushrooms
These mushrooms can be a good B12 source as well.
These can be good sources if you want to go food only, but you’ll have to eat a lot of them and often to make up for all the meat you aren’t getting it from.
Should You Take A Supplement Too, Or Instead?
As a vegan, I’d say that to be safe, you should be taking a supplement as well, just to cover all your bases.
It’s simply too common for vegans to become B12 deficient after a while, and that’s often considered permanent once the damage is done.
Try either a good multi or even better, that plus a good separate B12 supplement.

(They are both in my list of recommended supplements to take).
Conclusion

As a vegan, there are a select few foods you can eat to up your B12 intake, but the way, way simpler way is actually through a vegan B12 supplement.
Try the above foods as well as the multi and bottle of B12, and that should be more than enough to cover your B12 needs.
Enjoy,
Emil
