How To Lose Weight Fast And Keep It Off Long-Term

Want to lose weight?

I’ve got you covered.

And I do so in a very natural way, since the best way to lose weight happens to be au naturel.

Forget all products filled with false promises, and embrace the proper diet.

Which diet? This one.

Because even though losing weight isn’t all about diet, I’d say it’s by far the biggest factor.

The Diet For Losing Weight

In short, the diet entails eating nearly completely unprocessed, so no excessive added sugars, white flour or vegetable oil.

But especially that last one, the seed or vegetable oils.

If you can stick to this diet, in no time you’ll be shedding pounds, and keep them off in the long run.

But that means from now or then on eating really healthy will and needs to be part of your lifestyle.

Healthy eating

Since I’ve already covered the diet in the linked post above I won’t go into too much detail here but I will reiterate:

Avoid seed oils.

Seed/Vegetable Oils And Weight Gain

I’m of the opinion that most, nearly all, of today’s obesity pandemic is caused by the consumption of these omega-6 oils.

They cause other types of chronic illness too, but I’ll stick to the weight issue here.

Before we started using these oils in our food, there was practically no obesity at all, a meek 1 percent or so, while we’re now nearing 50%.

Avoid vegetable oils

You can read more about this and these oils here.

This fact can be both a good and a bad one, in the sense that it’s great that you can just stop consuming them to lose weight and improve your health, but bad that they can a take 2-5 years to detox from and that they’re in almost all processed foods.

Either way, this is the main piece of the weight loss puzzle, but there’s more.

To up your odds of a quick weight loss journey, consider intermittent fasting:

Intermittent Fasting For Weight Loss

To shed fat faster and keep it off, intermittent or periodic fasting is a great tool.

You can eat the same amount of calories, but during your feasting window, and still lose more weight than had you not.

Fasting

Because it’s not quite calorie in calories out anymore, that idea is a bit outdated.

For weight loss, try to work towards a shorter eating window of perhaps 8 hours or less, although a very minimum of 12 hours is still something.

You can also add to this the 5:2 diet where you fast or greatly restrict calories 2 days a week, if you like, although a bit more difficult perhaps.

Read more about fasting here.

And somewhat similar to fasting then, we have:

Calorie Restriction

No food

This is an old one, and it can be double-edged.

It can help you lose weight, restricting calories, but also possibly make you somewhat weak and always hungry if you mess with your calorie intake too much, and with it your metabolism, especially if you’re already fairly unhealthy.

It can still be very effective though, and I suggest you try it and see for yourself for even faster weight loss, although it’s not needed to still lose weight when above methods and particularly the diet is used.

Calorie counting and restriction simply isn’t that necessary if you find it too hard.

Try just going a little bit hungry most of the time, just not quite full.

And see what wonders that might bring.

And then:

Exercise And Weight Loss

Exercise indoors

Exercise takes the fourth place here as a part of your weight loss journey, and for those of you not a fan of it, I bring good news.

Exercise, when it comes to your weight, just isn’t that necessary.

But all the calories burnt, you say?

Oftentimes, exercise leads to increased appetite instead, and more calories ingested.

It’ll help you feel better though, as well as put some muscle on depending on the exercise, and it can make it easier to eat healthy.

So, do still exercise but more for other reasons, and what types?

I’d say, stick to functional fitness, as recommended here.

A lot can be said for slower cardio, such as walking, which seemingly doesn’t make you as ravenously hungry, while still possible to do a lot of in a day and burn a lot of calories.

Weigh Yourself On The Scale Often

Scale dumbbells

Weighing yourself regularly has been shown by science to help with your weight loss, by motivating you to lose more, eat less and continuing on with your efforts.

So that’s a simple one, and if you don’t yet own a scale, here’s a good one.

I’d say weigh yourself at least weekly, and you won’t be disappointed.

Sleep Well

Sleep should be taken into consideration when trying to lose weight, since bad sleep can lead to cravings of calories and unhealthy foods.

So, try to optimize your sleep and get enough of it.

Drink Water

Water

Water will help fill you up and hydrate you, and may help with appetite.

It’s no magic pill, but it helps.

Don’t Eat Too Late At Night

This is a good and simple one, just try and avoid eating for at least 3 hours before bedtime, and that’ll help you lose weight and improve your sleep and health.

Weight Loss Supplements

Supplements

There’s a lot to be said about weight loss supplements, although I won’t be recommending any in particular today.

A simple addition though to improve on that diet, which already includes a bunch of supplements for optimal health.

Conclusion

To Conclude

Although the first four tips, being diet, seed oils, intermittent fasting and calorie restriction are the most important, they all still pack a punch.

The good news is that it’s not calories in, calories out for all eternity, but more nuanced.

And, these tips are also great for improving your health, weight or not.

That said, good luck, although you may no longer need as much!
